The biggest news here is Brick & Mortar! After laying low and getting the business model more or less constructed we are coming to Painted Tree! But man, while a blessing, it couldn’t of happened at a busier time!
When it rains it pours they say! We (Lincoln, Ne) just had an incredible amount of rain the last few days. something like 4 inches yesterday. It rained the day before yesterday, and it is raining today. The storm was so bad the neighbors tree decided to quit life all the sudden.
School
Eh, so back to this when it rains it pours thing. School is back in session, so this fella is back to his full time occupation as welding instructor. Super cool, and very excited to be back for my fifth year of instruction! My youngest son is stoked to be starting 1st grade this week as well! He’s a rockstar and he’s so eager to be back in class. He gets a little stir crazy around the house during the summer without the gaggle of kids he now knows from school.
Usually the beginning of fall is my busiest time of year. I’m finishing the projects I got into over the summer and the beginning of fall instruction keeps me super busy on its own.
Football
Then there is the football….. This will be the year! I’ve been saying it for 20 years, but this year its true! Ha, I don’t drink the koolaid as hard as I used to. I’ll always be a Husker fan and I’ve watched every game since I can remember. No matter how badly it has gone. At least the level of excitement around the program is warranted this year. Although I thought the same about the level of excitement for Frosts first year. I read somewhere we had the easiest schedule in the BIG this year. Cool with me!
For what its worth being a Husker fan I have definitely thought of making Nebraska memorabilia. There is a pretty cool licensing agreement available from UNL for small businesses such as myself. My only thing here is I don’t know what I can bring to the market that hasn’t already been done. I love me some big N’s don’t get me wrong, but they’ve been beaten to death haven’t they?
No shortage of these things running around Lincoln, Nebraska of all places. Anyway, I’m not opposed to do Nebraska stuff in general. I haven’t thought about the subject long enough to come up with anything unique enough that I would want to build.

Brick & Mortar – Painted Tree
I got a tiny bit side-tracked there! Rain! Raining everywhere! Okay, I said I was busy because of school starting up! I’m more busy! After just over a year of waiting I finally got stall at the Lincoln Painted Tree location. I am a huge experimenter and this is just an awesome opportunity. I’m going to try to keep a lot of my items here more towards the simple side. Unique, sleek, cool, and crafty. My wife and I decided on doing some paint it yourself type things. She really likes to craft and thinks that something neat that you can customize would be cool. So there you have it. Of course I’ll be selling my beer signs there as well. The sales have been promising so far, but where I sell has been inconsistent. Having one place to worry about will be a huge win and I am super, super, super excited about it!
