All the scrollwork was bent and fit by hand. The frame size was custom to fit the selected mailbox. This post fits a jumbo size box which are becoming more popular with average size of mail increasing. I’ve heard postal carriers appreciate larger mailboxes in general as it makes their jobs easier. Anyway, the numbers on the post were plasma cut and anchored to backing plate with stainless steel hardware. The post weighs an impressive 65lbs, it feels high quality because it is high quality. The double post 2″x2″ frame is super strong, as we found out when it was hit by a car two months after installation.

Installation
If you’ve seen this around, it admittedly doesn’t look as good these days. It was hit by a vehicle a few months after install and then a snowplow a few months after that. Its had a rough go of it, but it is structurally 100% good to go while the paint is rough around the edges.
