Fancy Mailbox Post
It kills me that over the years I didn’t take more photos. I’ve worked in heavy fabrication and power plants. I ran a miscellaneous steel (fab) department for 3.5 years. I have built thousands of railings, and hundreds of random other steel things. I’ve tried documenting nearly everything I’ve built on behalf of my business. To be honest I’ve been spotty about that as well. Pics or it didn’t happen right? Anyway.
I have to mention this one is on Pioneers Street here in Lincoln. It was hit by a car a few months after installation. We never figured out who did it, but it did loose some good chunks of body panel and wheel well in the collision. The mailbox got laid back pretty good. But man, she took a hit like a champ!
I’ll have to get another photo of it, but the owner just pulled the post back upright. She’s still sitting on Pioneers Street and looks just fine. With a new mailbox on top of it of course.
Simple Mailbox Post
This post was the first decorative thing I built. It sits outside my house. I kept it simple with a few hand bent scrolls and some cast iron ‘jewelry’.
Hand Railing
This is a simple railing I made for my backyard after accidentally breaking the old wood. Be careful when lassoing tree limbs off your roof! If you aren’t careful, give me a call! 🙂
Wood Rack
I cut down a tree in the backyard some years back. I built a temporary rack out of scrap 2×4’s I had. Well years of our Nebraska weather played hell on the ‘temporary’ 4 year old wood rack. It was time for an upgrade that will last a few lifetimes.

Rolling Cart
This is a simple, yet purpose built cart for my pipe roller. It has a tip-over proof base and holds all the extra rolling dies. The mini table on the tower portion holds dies as they’re being changed. The handle lets me easily move it. I used to carry this bugger out to the truck bed to roll parts. Total pain in the tochus.
Trellis
2022 my cucumbers went crazy on an ugly trellis that I had made. I took a ton of photos because I was so proud of how they were doing. Those photos are trapped on a destroyed phone. (I still have it, so maybe someone out there can retrieve them?) I built this trellis for the 2024 growing season thinking my plants would do just as well. They did not. They didn’t do terrible. They just weren’t the mutant super plants I had the years prior.
